More Than A Minute is an excellent tool to support your organization’s planning and goal-setting exercises. After reading the book, we purchased a copy for every Manager in our company. Holly Green provides a great deal of easy-to-follow guidance on how to set proper goals and how to structure strategic planning that will help drive organizational performance.

The Real Deal

Holly Green is the real deal and so is her new book, More Than A Minute. I usually like to highlight key thoughts and passages as I read, but Holly has so many practical, effective suggestions in these pages that I seem to have highlighted everything except the page numbers and the index.

If you’re looking for a thorough, readable guide on how to get superior results through other people, pick this book up and start turning Holly’s suggestions into reality in your own company – or in your own department.

More than a Minute – More than Once

5.0 out of 5 stars
October 22, 2008

This book must be read more than once, as it is impossible to absorb and digest all the information that is presented in one passthrough. The book is insightful, thought provoking, global in content, and is void of fluff. It offers many practical options for goal-setting and strategic planning so that managers may embrace a leadership path that is within their comfort zone and business style. It challenges leaders and managers to rise to a higher level and also reminds them of often-forgotten basic people management skills that are not only critical to successful goal-setting and strategic planning but also in achieving financial rewards. It is a hands-on tool that should be a part of every business person’s library.

Great update

“More Than A Minute” brings the principles of the first minute manager book to life by making them current. Ms. Green uses modern examples and ties them to solving the new (and renewed) problems in providing leadership. Todays world moves faster and places greater demands on our ability to manage effectively and empathetically. More Than A Minute gives the insight I need today.

Finally!

Finally a book worth reading every page of! I am getting so tired of reading business books that have only one central theme then spend the entire book trying to prove that point. This book actually has depth! Yes, many of the concepts you may already know but I found these refreshers to often very helpful. But this book also brings some crisp new perspectives, written from the point of view from someone who has been there and done that.

An Invaluable Toolkit

Unlike many leadership and strategy books, More than a Minute includes an array of straightforward tools and techniques that enable readers to put strategic principals into practice. Five stars!

More than a Minute is informative and insightful. It is a terrific resource for business owners, managers and employees alike and written in an open, friendly way without pretension or tired cliches. I plan on sharing this book with everyone on my team.

An Excellent, Practical Frame for Strategy & Execution
5.0 out of 5 stars
September 21, 2008

This book is an excellent frame for strategic planning and execution. From the perspective of a strategist and business coach, I find it interesting because More Than a Minute follows so much of what I do in my practice… I could give it to prospects and say “this is what we’re going to do”. I think the audience is one where they are theoretical about wanting to learn about strategic planning and implement what they learn. There are so many good sections of questions and other tables in the book that you can start using tomorrow… very practical and useful.
